Superior Court covers felonies, civil cases over $100,000, family law, probate, and appeals. District Court deals with misdemeanors, civil cases up to $100,000, small claims up to $10,000, and traffic citations.

Anchorage Phone Directory for Vital Records

The Alaska Bureau of Vital Statistics Anchorage office is at 3901 Old Seward Highway, Suite 101, phone (907) 269-0991. Walk-in hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Certified copies of birth, death, marriage, or divorce certificates cost $30 for the first copy and $25 for each additional copy of the same record ordered at the same time. Birth records have a 100-year access restriction. Death, marriage, and divorce records are restricted for 50 years. Only parties named on the record or their legal representatives can get certified copies during the restriction period.
